The Ashton Gate Sporting Quarter site is currently divided into three main parcels all of which are closed off to public access behind high walls and secure fencing.
Key to our proposals are to open up the site into one space with three entrance plazas and all buildings connected by easily accessible public realm.
The focal point will be Colliter’s Brook which was partially opened by the stadium development in 2016, but still enclosed on one side by a high brick wall. We will open the brook with footbridges over it to enable the public to enjoy an improved green corridor through the heart of our scheme.
Two new pedestrian plazas at each end of the stadium will provide a wonderful outdoor space for visitors and the public to socialise outdoors. The whole site will enjoy additional green spaces and seating areas.
The scheme will be highly sustainable with the environment considered at every stage. Key parts of the proposal include:
Electric vehicle charging points
Roof mounted solar panels
BREEAM rated scheme
Building management control systems to reduce energy usage in all buildings
Clean energy technology such as Air Source and CO2 heat pumps
Provision for a future connection into a district heat network
